Task management tied to goals and objectives
In nex-orbit every project hangs off a goal from nex-okl, objectives and growth. Before the work starts, the guess is written down and dated: how long, what it will cost, what might go wrong. Effort you can account for
Because each task is tied to a goal, leadership can ask once a quarter whether the effort went where the goals were. The quarterly view puts estimate beside actual for every goal. “36 hours on a goal closed as missed, and no learning written” is the most useful sentence it produces.
Plan and assign
Break the work into tasks with owners and dates. When it is agreed in nex-meet, each note the host takes becomes a task, a date on the plan or a line on the bill, so nobody retypes the minutes.
Job costing and project budget against actual, as the work happens
The moment hours are approved in nex-track, time, costs and billing, the cost is on the job at the right rate. Each rate is written down once: move a consultant from €62 to €68 an hour and the open quotes, this month’s invoices and the project margin are right when you save. The job shows the estimate beside the actual, labour cost, other costs, what is billable now and the margin.
See a job going over while you can still act
Ask the AI assistant which jobs will lose money this quarter and it answers from the same records: the metering job has used 94 per cent of its budget with three weeks to go, and two of the four people on it are booked elsewhere from the 19th. It shows the information it used, so you can check it.
Resource planning and workload, from what people are booked on
In nex-orbit, who is free comes from what people are already booked on, not from asking around. Skills sit on each person’s record in nex-hrm, and nex-cal counts working hours and holidays. Who has too much on next week is visible, and the assistant flags people about to run out of work.
Project management without status reports
Here the software knows what is waiting on what: a blocked task says what it is blocking and who can clear it, and the assistant chases those people rather than the whole team.
When somebody still wants an update, the assistant drafts it from what happened and a person edits and sends it. Anything that changes a record waits for a person to approve it, and every change is kept in one audit history (see keeping your information safe).

How is it different from standalone project management software?
A standalone tool keeps its own copy of the team, the hours and the goals, and relies on exports or integrations to stay in step. nex-orbit is part of one platform, so approved hours are already on the job and every task is already tied to a goal. There is nothing to sync.
Can we bring in our existing projects and tasks?
Yes. nex-calibrate brings existing data in whatever format you have it, with no fixed import template to fit it into first. After that, fields and approvals are configured in the app, or typed in plain English, with no re-import, no redeployment and no developer.
Does the AI assistant change project plans on its own?
No. It answers questions, warns about jobs heading over budget, chases blocked work and drafts updates. Anything that would change a record is shown as a plan in plain words and waits for a person to approve it, and every change can be undone.
